Patna: Ridiculing Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar’s move to unite the opposition after severing his ties with NDA, Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani on Sunday commented that those who cannot form government in Bihar without an ally were ironically in the race to become Prime Minister.
Addressing a function after launching a biographical book on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ‘Modi@20: Sapne Hue Sakar’, at Gyan Bhawan here on Sunday, Smriti Irani hit out at Chief Minister Kumar without taking his name and said those who cannot form government at their own were taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Without taking the name of chief minister Nitish Kumar the BJP leaders said that it was a great irony that those in the race for PM were not able to see the bloodshed on the roads of Bihar where oppressed and innocent people were struggling for their survival and dignity.
She said the competitors of Prime Minister Narendra Modi worried about how to get power and claimed that Modi would again be victorious in 2024 as he enjoys the blessings of the people.
Irani said that she had the opportunity to work with Narendra Modi for 20 years and maintained that Modi was not only Mantra but mission and method.
She said that in 2013 BJP had 773 legislators which has increased to more than 1440. Prior to 2010 four Chief Ministers were from BJP which has now increased to 12.
