Sikkim reports 1 new Covid-19 case, no deaths in 24 hours

Gangtok: Sikkim reported one new Corona positive case and no new deaths from the infection in the last 24 hours, said an official.

The active cases rose to 53 with one new infection, said Sonam Bhutia, Information, Education and Communication member.

Out of 6128 cases registered so far, 5843 have been discharged on recovery.

Since no further deaths occurred, the total death figure due to the infection remained at 135.

Further, 779 health and frontline workers were administered coronavirus vaccine.

According to the authorities, this figure is below their target but they hoped more people would be vaccinated soon.
