Gangtok: Chief Minister PS Tamang attended Sherpa Losar festival celebrations at Ganchung Temi –Namphing constituency, South Sikkim. He also enjoyed the Eco Village Tourism at Rukum Taar.
The Chief Minister congratulated the Organisers for Celebrations with local participation, displaying rich cultural heritage and traditions.
Addressing the gathering, Tamang laid stress on the need to carry on ‘Vocal for Locals.’He highlighted some of the major promises kept by his government so far.
‘It was our Govt that gave berth to a Sherpa community MLA in the Cabinet ,something which was not done in the past. Due to global pandemic lots of bottlenecks have been created in our development work but we took it as a challenge to fulfil the promises we had made to our public,’ said CM Tamang.
According to CM Temi –Namphing could become a Tourist destination. Public of Ganchung submitted a memorandum of demands.CM PS Tamang said he will do all possible and also grant financial help to two monasteries ( Gumpas).
However, Sikkimese Buddhist Sherpas, Tibetans, Bhutias, Lepchas and Tamangs are celebrating Lunar OX Iron New Year 2148.
