Over the past year, marked by the eruption of violence in May 2023, the Army embarked on a profound journey, navigating through deep-seated grievances, ethnic tensions, and external influences that perpetuated instability. Amidst this tumult, the Army remained resolute in its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s integrity while fostering tranquillity.

In response to the crisis, the Indian Army swiftly mobilized, conducting numerous rescue and evacuation missions, saving the lives of over 33,516 individuals caught in the crossfire. Additionally, they extended humanitarian aid to 1493 individuals and provided shelter to 3151 people affected by the violence. Seeking peace, the Army initiated 25 peace dialogues involving 795 local leaders, endeavouring to mend the fabric of a fractured community.

They conducted 75 medical camps, offering healthcare to over 13,074 individuals, irrespective of caste or creed. Moreover, they distributed relief material to 1695 locals, ensuring no one was left unaided. Recognizing the plight of children, the Army provided educational support to 891 students and catered to the needs of 1092 children, ensuring continuity in learning amidst adversity.

While prioritizing humanitarian endeavours, the Army bolstered security measures, conducting patrols, training programs, and counter-insurgency operations to neutralize threats and restore law and order.

Their relentless commitment bore fruit as they completed 56 Operation Sadbhavana projects, investing  Rs 2.7 crore in fiscal year 2023-24. Undeterred, they planned an additional 57 projects worth  Rs4.09 crore for the upcoming year, laying the foundation for a promising future in Manipur.

Amid conflict, the Indian Army emerged as beacons of hope, their dedication and selflessness resonating with the people of Manipur. Through their unwavering resolve, they have etched a legacy of compassion and resilience, reaffirming their role as guardians of peace in the region.
