Panaji: Senior Congress leader and former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram was appointed as election observer for Goa on Monday.
In a statement, AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal said, ”Honourable Congress President has appointed P Chidambaram as senior AICC Election Observer to Goa to oversee election strategies and coordination for the upcoming assembly elections in the state.”
Welcoming the appointment, Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat said it was a boost for the Goa Congress to emerge victorious in coming assembly elections.
His experience and guidance would help motivate Congress functionaries to achieve victory in 2022.

Goa Congress President Girish Chodankar said,” Team @INCGoa wholeheartedly welcomes the appointment of Senior @INCIndia Shri @PChidambaram_IN as Senior Election Observer for Goa. With his guidance & support, it is now certain that @INCGoa will form the Government in 2022 with absolute majority.”
