Imphal: In a series of successful joint operations, the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police, and other security forces conducted coordinated efforts across several districts in Manipur, leading to the recovery of a substantial cache of arms, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). These operations covered hill and valley areas, including Imphal East, Imphal West, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, and Thoubal districts.
On October 21, 2024, a combined team of the Army, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Police seized a .303 Sniper Rifle, a 9mm Carbine Machine Gun, a 9mm Pistol, a Single Barrel Breech Loading Gun, grenades, ammunition, and other military-grade items from the forested region between Laimaton and Aigejang in Kangpokpi District.

A subsequent operation on October 24, led by Assam Rifles and Manipur Police, uncovered a 9mm Carbine, a shotgun, a grenade, and ammunition from a freshly dug pit camouflaged with grass and black polythene near B Phainom Village in Thoubal District. The Army and Manipur Police also found an arms cache in Lairok, Imphal East District, containing a 2-inch mortar, a .303 Rifle, a Double Barrel Rifle, two pistols, grenades, and other weaponry, aided by a trained Army dog.
On October 25, operations in Teibung village, Churachandpur District, led to the recovery of two .303 rifles, two .22 mm semi-automatic rifles, a large country-made mortar, a 12 Bore Pistol, and ammunition. Simultaneously, a joint team of the Army, Manipur Police, and CRPF in Uyungmakhong village, Bishnupur District, retrieved an SLR rifle, a 2.4 kg IED, grenades, and other military items.

In a separate operation in Shantipur Makha Leikai Shamushang, Imphal West, Assam Rifles, CRPF, and Manipur Police seized a Single Barrel Bore Rifle, two 9mm pistols, grenades, and ammunition.
All recovered items have been handed over to the Manipur Police for further action. These successful recoveries highlight the effective coordination between security forces, underscoring their commitment to maintaining safety and security in the region.
