Imphal: During the last 24 hours, the situation in the State was tense with sporadic incidents of firing but under control. Search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts.
During the operation, one.303 Rifle, one DBBL, two 36 HE hand grenades, one 51 mm ILLG, two WP GREN No. 80 MK-1, one handheld Chinese walkie-talkie set, one tear smoke shell soft nose, one cartridge 38 mm anti-riot with rubber bullet, one 5.56 mm INSAS Rifle mag, one 5.56mm INSAS LMG mag, two BP Jacket Harness, five 7.62 mm ammunition and three 12 Bore Cartridge from Thoubal district.
From Imphal East district, one single barrel, two 2″ motor ILL bombs with covers, five No. 36 HE grenades without detonators and 2 two miniflare cartridges were recovered during an operation carried out by security forces
Movement of 86 and 148 vehicles along NH-37 and NH-2 respectively with essential items were ensured and strict security measures were taken up in all vulnerable locations and security convoy is provided in sensitive stretches to ensure free and safe movement of the vehicles, according to a press note from the Police control Room, Manipur Police.
