Imphal: Manipur government Friday announced reopening of all schools including govt aided, private and those affiliated to CBSE located in the state from August 8.
Last month, the state government had directed all the schools not to conduct physical classes for children below twelve years of age i.e. up to Class VII and the schools shall remain closed for these students till August 7, 2022 in the public interest while allowing schools to conduct physical classes for Classes VIlI and above from July 25, 2022, said a statement by Education department.
The new order has been issued after due consultation with the State Health Department and keeping in view the importance of education of young children and in order to bring a sense of normalcy in their lives, it added.
The Health Department has advised full and precaution dose vaccination, and wearing of face masks by students and teachers School authorities and has also advised parents not to send their wards if they have Covid-19 symptoms. All heads of schools must take necessary steps to vaccinate their teachers fully, the order further stated.
