Sainik School Alumni Assn condemns brutal killing of SDPO Anand Singh in Manipur

The Sainik School Imphal Alumni Association members also observed a two-minute silence at the residence of their beloved deceased brother, Late Chingtham Anand Singh to condole his untimely demise and for the departed soul's peaceful heavenly abode, in the morning of 1st Nov., 2023.

Imphal: The Sainik School Imphal Alumni Association (SSIAA) strongly condemned the cowardly act and brutal killing of Chingtham Anand Singh, MPS, SDPO Moreh on Wednesday.

A former student of Sainik School, Imphal, Anand Singh was killed by suspected Kuki militants using a sniper rifle, on the morning of October 31, 2023, when he was on duty overseeing the cleaning of the ground of Eastern Shine School, Moreh for construction of a helipad.

The Alumni Association also urged both the State and the Central Government to apprehend and take appropriate actions against the culprit/culprits involved in the heinous crime, and to prevent such inhuman acts in the future.

The Association members also observed a two-minute silence at the residence of their beloved deceased brother, the late Chingtham Anand Singh to condole his untimely demise and for the departed soul’s peaceful heavenly abode, in the morning of 1st November, 2023. 

The association members also prayed to the Almighty to give enough strength to the departed soul’s family and near and dear ones to bear the irreplaceable loss.

“Chingtham Anand Singh’s fond memories will always be embedded in the hearts of all members of the Sainik School Imphal Alumni Association. He was a true gentleman and an officer, devoted to his duty irrespective of the timeframe or any obstacle that he may face. He was a good and loving father, a caring brother, a loving son and a kind-hearted helpful friend who loved to play football. We indeed have lost a Good Human”, the press statement by the Alumni Association concluded. 

Chief Minister N Biren Singh, his Ministerial colleagues and others also paid humble tributes and deepest respects to Chingtham Anand Kumar, MPS, SDPO, Moreh who was martyred in the line of duty. 

Manipur has lost a true son of the soil today, but your sacrifices for the Nation will not go in vain. I pray for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace, Biren Singh added.
