Imphal: Riflewoman Sanju of the Assam Rifles, representing the All India Police Sports Control Board (AIPSCB), clinched a gold medal at the 2nd COAS Cup Boxing Tournament 2026. The championship was held at the Army Sports Institute (ASI), Pune, from 30 March to 05 April 2026.
Competing in the 60 kg lightweight category, Sanju displayed exceptional technical superiority and an indomitable fighting spirit. In the final bout on 03 April 2026, she defeated Nikita Chand of Uttarakhand with a decisive 4:1 point decision. Remaining unbeaten across three bouts, her performance showcased the tactical prowess and rigorous discipline central to the Assam Rifles.
