Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma on Thursday said that the regional committees of his state and Assam would visit the Khanduli area to examine the recent setting up of an entry tax gate established by Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC).
Sangma said the chairmen of the respective district council in Jaintia Hills and Karbi Anglong would also visit the area to resolve the issue which has caused considerable difficulty to the residents of the area.
The Chief Minister said that setting up the entry tax gate has caused difficulties for the people in the area.
“There is some bit of confusion between KAAC, Assam Government and us with regard to the location of the entry tax gate,” Sangma told reporters.
He said the visit of the political leaders and executive officers would help resolve the imbroglio.
