Imphal: A mini marathon was organised on Wednesday jointly by the Red Shield Division, Manipur Welfare Association & Youth clubs of Bishnupur. The marathon was conducted for senior boys, junior boys & girls.
The marathon was flagged off from Bishnupur in Manipur and culminated at Ningthoukhong. More than 300 youths participated in the event. Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt of Manipur, K Govindas distributed the prize to the winners in each category after the event.
The marathon was conducted with the aim to provide a platform to the youth for this challenging sporting event, spread awareness on physical fitness and foster competitiveness & national spirit amongst the youth, said a press note from the PRO (Defence), Kohima &Manipur.
