New Delhi: The Indian Armed Forces are in the final stages of preparation for the 76th Republic Day Parade, which will showcase a harmonious blend of tradition, discipline, and cutting-edge technology. The parade promises to reflect the nation’s strength, diversity, and resilience.
The parade will feature six marching contingents from the Indian Army, representing its rich history and valour. The participating contingents include:
• Brigade of The Guards.
• The Mahar Regiment.
• The Jat Regiment.
• The Garhwal Rifles.
• The Jammu and Kashmir Rifles.
• The Corps of Signals.
Accompanying these contingents, the melodious tunes of the Army Band will provide a captivating backdrop, featuring patriotic and martial music that embodies the spirit of the armed forces. A grand mounted cavalry for the 61st Cavalry Regiment contingent, the last operational cavalry unit globally, will also grace the parade, symbolising the enduring traditions of the Indian Army.
The equipment display will highlight the operational readiness and technological prowess of the armed forces, with contingents featuring:
• Tank T-90 (BHISHMA): The main battle tank of the Indian Army.
• Mechanised Infantry with ICV BMP-II (Sarath) and NAMIS (Nag Missile System),
Representing mobility, versatility, and advanced firepower.
• Quick Reaction Fighting Vehicles (Nandighosh) : Heavy and medium variants, emphasising rapid deployment capabilities with inherent protection.
• Pinaka Multiple Launch Rocket System (Agnibaan): Known for its lethality, precision and high impact rocket system.
• Bridge Laying Vehicles (Short Span Bridging System): Demonstrating engineering excellence in battlefield mobility.
• Battlefield Surveillance Systems (Sanjay): Enhancing situational awareness in real-time.
• All-Terrain Vehicles (Chetak): Ensuring operational efficiency in challenging terrains.
• Akash Air Defence Weapon System: A key component of India’s air defence network.
• BrahMos Missile System: A symbol of indigenous technological innovation.
• Grad BM-21 Rocket Launcher: A proven asset in artillery operations.
• Light Strike Vehicle (BAJRANG): Agile and adaptable for tactical scenarios.
This year’s parade will exemplify the armed forces’ dedication to the nation’s safety and progress while celebrating the strides made in indigenisation and self-reliance under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative.
