Doha: Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the failed coup attempt in Sudan, which was thwarted by the Sudanese authorities, saying it was directed against the hopes for a democratic transition of power, the Qatari Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“The State of Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the failed coup attempt which the Sudanese authorities announced thwarted today. In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said this attempt targets the aspirations and hopes of the brotherly Sudanese people for the democratic transition, freedom, peace and justice,” it said.
“The statement reiterated the State of Qatar’s full support for Sudan and its brotherly people to maintain its sovereignty, unity, security and stability,” the ministry said.
