Rewa (MP): An inquiry is underway into the crash of a private company’s trainer aircraft – in the vicinity of Umari village in Chorhata Police Station limits – that claimed a pilot’s life and grievously injured a trainee.
Law-enforcement authorities said that the plane took off during the intervening night from Chorhata airstrip. While a landing was being attempted in fog, the aircraft came in contact with power cables and then a temple spire before crashing. Patna-resident Captain Vimal Kumar and Jaipur’s Sonu Yadav sustained severe injuries. The duo was rushed to the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in this divisional headquarters where Capt Kumar succumbed.
