Kohima: Lt Col Amit Shukla, Public Relations Officer (PRO) Defence, Kohima, Tuesday called on the Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, and discussed the ongoing ethnic violence that began on May 3 in the neighbouring state, Manipur.
Incidentally, Gasesan earlier served as the governor of Manipur before his current assignment.
During the meeting with the first citizen of the state, the PRO briefed him on the regional issues, with a particular focus on matters concerning Manipur and the role it played in resolving the crisis which has claimed over 150 people and thousands of houses burnt to ashes.
The officer also expressed the earnest desire to work collaboratively to foster a harmonious and prosperous region.
The Governor appreciated the proactive approach in engaging with various stakeholders to explore opportunities for better understanding.
