Imphal: Seventeen boys and 11 girls from Manipur, from various communities, forming part of a National Integration Tour, visited Delhi in their second phase. For many, this was their first train rideāfrom Dimapur to New Delhi.
Their visit began with a solemn tribute at the India Gate and the National War Memorial, where they honoured the valour and sacrifice of the brave men and women who made the supreme sacrifice in the service to the nation.
A defining moment of the tour was their interaction with the President of India, Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The President inspired the students to work hard and pursue their dreams. President Murmu also highlighted the importance of unity, education and their role in shaping India’s future.
The tour of Rashtrapati Bhavan left the students in awe of its architectural grandeur and historical significance. They explored the Darbar Hall, Amrit Udyan, Janjati Museum and the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, gaining a deeper appreciation of India’s rich democratic traditions and cultural heritage.
The experience was a journey of learning and inspiration. It strengthened their understanding of Indiaās history, diversity, and democratic values, fostering a deep sense of national pride, belonging, and responsibility toward the nation, stated a press note from the PRO, IGAR(S).
