Pakistan confirms 1,742 new COVID-19 cases

Islamabad: Pakistan on Wednesday reported 1,742 new COVID-19 cases and 39 more deaths, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said on Thursday.

The NCOC, the country’s department leading the campaign against the pandemic, said the country’s total cases have risen to 1,245,127, including 1,169,566 recoveries.

The number of active cases has dropped to 47,832 in the country.
According to the NCOC, the pandemic killed 39 people on Wednesday, taking the overall death toll to 27,729.

Pakistan’s Sindh province is the worst affected region of the country with 457,458 infections, followed by the Punjab province which has reported 431,092 infections so far.
