Imphal: PAINT & REUSE THE WASTE, an initiative of District Administration Imphal East towards Cleanliness of Porompat DC Road as a part of Solid Waste Management drive of the District has been conducted on Saturday at Panchayat Bhavan, DC Office Complex, Porompat in collaboration with Imphal Art College.
The programme was graced by Khumanthem Diana Devi, Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East in presence of Shamim Ahmad Shah, ADC, Imphal East; Aramba Hemanta Singh, Principal, Imphal Art College; teachers of Imphal Art College and staff of DC Office Porompat.Â
The programme is a run up activity to the Silver Jubilee Celebration of the creation of Imphal East District.
The bitumen barrels are generally treated as waste once emptied. Such so-called waste has been painted for re-use. Towards the Green initiative, trees will be planted on such painted barrels.
Twenty-six students of the Art College painted on bitumen barrels and the painted barrels would be kept alongside the Porompat DC Road for beautification and awareness purposes.
