Imphal: During the last 24 hours, the situation in the State was tense with sporadic incidents of firing and congregation of protestors. Search operations were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Thoubal, Imphal East, Imphal-West, Kakching Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts in which one arm was recovered from Thoubal district, and one bunker was dismantled at Kangpokpi District.
Sub-Inspector of Manipur Police namely, Onkhomang Haokip (35) S/O (L) Jampao Haokip of Molcham Village, Kangpokpi AP District Headquarter Churachandpur was martyred on Wednesday in a firing incident by miscreants at Chingphei village under Moirang PS. Manipur Police strongly condemns this dastardly attack. His last rites will be performed tomorrow at Churachandpur in a befitting manner, said a press note from the Police Control Room, Manipur Police.
