One-day skill mela organised in Manipur’s Chandel District

The Deputy Commissioner said that not only the government and private skill developers and entrepreneurs, but every quarter of society should also join in propagating the need for skill development, which will increase the employability of our youth

Chandel: A one-day skill mela was organised by the District Skill Committee, Chandel Monday at the Multipurpose Hall, Mini Secretariat, DC complex, Chandel. Deputy Commissioner, Chandel Mayanglambam Rajkumar was the chief guest of the function while Addl. Deputy  Commissioner, Chandel Md. Firoj Khan and Assistance Director NIELIT, Laishram Shyamkumar also attended the mela.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that not only the government and private skill developers and entrepreneurs, but every quarter of society should also join in propagating the need for skill development, which will increase the employability of our youth. He urged the district skill committee to continue finding out about the opportunities available and creating awareness among the youth of the districts.

The Deputy Commissioner, Chandel, also launched a six-day IT training programme for school teachers as part of the program. All together around seventeen government and private skill providers and companies, like ITI, Chandel, JSS, Chandel, CIPET, NIELIT, SYNTAX, JCRE Skill solutions, Eastern Motors, Go Aviation, Green Cane, Meira Foods, JACEEX etc., took part in today’s Mela.

Around 200 students, youths and stakeholders of the district took part in Monday’s mela. The programme was also attended by district-level officers, staff, and other officials of the district.
