Imphal: A one-day awareness programme on Environment Protection and Distribution of Season seeds was held at Oksoi Grazing Ground, Oinam under Bishnupur district on Monday.
The awareness programme was held by a joint initiative of Saheed Madhumangal Foundation, ICAR and NIT, Imphal under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan ((A movement for progressive India).
L Jatra Singh, Pracharak RSS; Dr I Meghachandra Singh, Senior Scientist, ICAR; Ph Ibotombi Sharma, General Secretary, Saheed Madhumangal Foundation and Prof P Albino Singh, NIT, Manipur attended the function as resource persons.
Resource persons, during the programme, spoke on the importance of planting good plants and seeds to promote and preserve our environment. Winter vegetable seeds were also distributed to farmers at the end of the programme.Â
