Imphal: On Saturday, a combined team of Manipur police and Assam Rifles arrested one person along with 55 soap cases suspected to be brown sugar, weighing a total of 838 grams.
The accused has been identified as Phundreimayum Sagir Ahamed alias Achouba, 46, son of late Md. Abdul Halim of Lilong Awang Leikai. The drugs were found concealing in one Maruti Alto LXI bearing regd. no. MN04P-3177.
The arrested person along with seized items have been handed over to Lilong Police Station for taking further necessary legal action, said a press note from the PRO, Manipur Police.
