Kohima: A combined team of Assam Rifles and Nagaland Police apprehended one active NSCN-K (Niki Sumi) cadre from the Box Cutting Area of Kohima last Wednesday.
One 0.32 Pistol along with a magazine, and three live rounds were also recovered from him. The cadre has been identified as self-styled SS Captain Alopo Yepthomi.
Since last year, he along with other cadres had been staying in Kohima town and was reportedly involved in extortion activities.
The apprehended cadre, along with weapons and ammunition, have been handed over to the Kohima Police, according to a press statement by the PRO (Defence), Kohima, and Imphal on Friday.
