Odisha: Three die, 40 injured in bus truck collision

While nine critically injured were shifted to a hospital in Cuttack, others were admitted to a hospital in Nischintakoili. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his profound grief over the death of three people in accident near Nischintakoili and announced a compensation of Rs three lakh to the next of kin of each of the deceased.

Bhubaneswar: As many as three people including a woman died and 40 injured, nine of them critically after a passenger bus collided head on with a truck at Katarapada Chhak under Nischintakoili Police station of Cuttack district on Tuesday.
Sources said while two died on the spot, one died while undergoing treatment.
Out of the three died , one was a woman passenger.
The accident occurred while the bus was on its way from Chandbali to Cuttack.
While nine critically injured were shifted to a hospital in Cuttack, others were admitted to a hospital in Nischintakoili. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his profound grief over the death of three people in accident near Nischintakoili and announced a compensation of Rs three lakh to the next of kin of each of the deceased.
Patnaik also expressed his sympathies to the bereaved family members.
The Chief Minister also directed to the SCB Medical College to provide better treatment to the nine critically injured admitted to the hospital and wished for their speedy recovery.
