Itanagar: An active cadre of NSCN(K-YA) was killed in a clash with Assam Rifles troops in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday, officials reported.
The incident occurred during a search operation in Changkhao, Longding district, where Assam Rifles personnel came under fire from suspected NSCN(K-YA) militants, according to an officer from the paramilitary force.
In the ensuing exchange, the troops retaliated, resulting in the death of one NSCN(K-YA) cadre, the officer stated.
A pistol and other war-like equipment were recovered from the scene, as confirmed in a press note by the PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, covering Manipur, Nagaland, and Southern Arunachal Pradesh.
