Gangtok: Kailash Pradhan a non-political elite contesting from Upper & Lower MG Marg- Lal Bazar, with Nib of Pen is carrying out a novel way of the campaign in Sikkim.
He has introduced the best way of public participation, providing them with the opportunity to identify their problems. Voters and others visiting the venue of the Interactive campaign at the uppermost level of the Market were seen tying ribbons on the pillars below their problem /expected facility mentioned on paper. Maximum ribbons were tied below, Electricity and Garbage.
Similarly, data was collected through visitors pasting colourful stickers on the huge chart. The local artists performed for entertainment. No slogan shouting was observed by his supporters. Nothing like ‘Jindabad ‘ was heard.
About the Municipality lacking certain powers, Pradhan said, ”Gangtok is heading towards a mess. We have to make G MC strong and win the confidence of the Govt.”
He is also going about canvassing through the internet. Pradhan wants to know more from the public than to shower them with a treasure of knowledge. The problems he knows in-depth, including electricity and sanitation will be solved once he is voted to Municipality, he said.
However, his ward has 7 candidates in the fray including him for elections scheduled for 31st March’21.
