Hyderabad: National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Director General Dr. Narendra Kumar said the NIRDPR is advocating the People’s Plan Campaign for the evolution of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for village panchayats by integrating all other sub-plans of the habitations.
In this context, the School Development Plan is also to be integrated with GPDP for setting priority for education and to have coherent linkages with other socio-economic policies at the Panchayat level, Dr. Kumar said after inaugurating the one-day National Consultative Workshop on Capacity Building of Stakeholders for Educational Development in Rural Areas organized by NIRDPR here on Wednesday.
He emphasized that Education at the heart of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is also present as targets under other Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on health, growth, and employment, sustainable consumption and production, and climate change.
Though we have achieved universalization of elementary education, the quality of education is the biggest concern for us, the DG said many countries are also facing the problem of quality of education.
However our emphasis on improving the good quality of education is not as good as in other countries, he added.
