Itanagar: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to resume the services of daily express special train between Guwahati (Assam) and Naharlagun (Arunachal Pradesh) from September 1, a NFR spokesperson said on Tuesday.
“Train No. 05617 Guwahati – Naharlagun (Donyi Polo) express special will run daily w.e.f. September 1 leaving from Guwahati at 2120 hours to reach Naharlagun at 0445 hours on the next day. In return direction, Train No. 05618 Naharlagun–Guwahati express special will run daily w.e.f. September 2 leaving from Naharlagun at 1950 hours to reach Guwahati at 0425 hours on the next day,” said Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Guneet Kaur.
The train will run with LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) coaches for the benefit of short-distance travellers, the CPRO said in a statement.
It was also decided to run a special train between Naharlagun – Anand Vihar Terminal (Delhi) with revised timing over NFR till further advice, it said.
“Train No. 04076 Anand Vihar Terminal (ANVT)– Naharlagun AC express special will run two days a week- on Thursday and Sunday w.e.f. from Aug 29 leaving from ANVT at 1645 hours to reach Naharlagun at 0640 hours on the third day. In return direction, Train No. 04075 Naharlagun-ANVT express special will run two days a week- on Tuesday and Saturday w.e.f. from Aug 31 leaving from Naharlagun at 2150 hours to reach ANVT at 1130 hours on the third day,” Kaur said.
During train journey and on arrival at their destination, the passengers will have to adhere to prevailing health protocols of the destination state, the CPRO said. The rail services in the frontier state have been halted since the Covid-19 outbreak.
