Kohima: Maj Gen Gagan Deep, ADG, NCC Directorate, North Eastern Region (NER), is on a three-day visit to Nagaland from February 22 to 24, 2024.
During his visit, ADG was briefed at NCC Group HQs, Kohima and witnessed training activity at the Kohima Science College. ADG interacted with the Officers, ANOs, Instructors and Cadets and appreciated the efforts of the NCC fraternity of Nagaland for their achievements.
He complimented the officers of NCC Group Kohima for sending the largest contingent of, 31 cadets, to the Republic Day Parade 2024 at New Delhi specially 25 Girl cadets from the junior wing as part of NER Girls Band that participated in Republic Day Parade and Prime Minister Rally at New Delhi
ADG interacted with the Governor of Nagaland, La. Ganesan and Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio and thanked the government for extending support to NCC in the state. Relevant issues for further progression of the NCC in the state were also discussed.
ADG attended a felicitation ceremony of the cadets participated in the Republic Day Camp at New Delhi, held at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, on Feb 24, 2024. The Governor of Nagaland, who also felicitated the cadets, chaired the event and while addressing praised the cadets and mentioned that, the entire state is proud of their achievements. Girl’s band enthralled the audience with their performance.
The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphio Rio. NCC mementos and photographs of the girl’s band marching on the Kartvya Path, were presented to the governor and Chief Minister by the ADG. During his address, the CM assured of extending all the possible support for further enhancement of the NCC in the state. The Commanding Officer, 1 Nagaland NCC Girl’s Battalion, Kohima received the Governor’s Appreciation during the event.
The event culminated with a series of group photographs, interactions with cadets and lunch hosted by the Hon’ble Governor. ADG later attended the University games organised at the IG Stadium, Kohima where the girls’ band performed, according to a press note from the PRO, (Defence) Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh.
