Bijapur (Chhattisgarh): Local legislator Vikram Mandavi had a narrow escape on Tuesday when his convoy was fired upon by Maoists near Paddeda in this restive district of Left-wing extremism-affected Bastar division while the MLA was returning after attending a meeting at the Gangaloor weekly market.
Sources said that the vehicle specifically targeted was conveying District Panchayat Member Parvati Kashyap. Providentially, there were no injuries.
There was no official word on the incident until reports last came in.
