Puducherry: Stated that Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murgan, during his three-day visit to Puducherry tried to divert the attention of the people by giving false information that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had provided Rs 3,000 crore for the Union Territory in the eight years NDA government’s regime, Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister V Narayanasamy challenged whether the former is ready for an open debate with him to prove his claim.

He said he could prove that the Minister’s information was false.

Talking to news persons on Sunday, Narayanasamy said that Murugan forgot the fact that a Congress-DMK government was in the UT during the last five years when the Smart city project was brought and the BJP had nothing to do with the issue.

Crop insurance for farmers and the Ayushman Bharat scheme was for all the states. But Murugan portrayed it as for Puducherry alone, he said.

The former Chief Minister said that last year the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre failed to give any funds for Puducherry and challenged the Minister whether he dare to have an open debate with him on the same platform where he could prove that he is right.

Pointing out that two Ministers in the N Rangasamy government met Lt.Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan and urged her to expedite schemes in the UT, Narayanasamy wondered whether the Ministers have lost faith in the Chief Minister.

He said that it was proven that the Lt.Governor is the Super Chief Minister and Rangasamy the “Dummy” Chief Minister as stated by him earlier.

The senior Congress leader said it is surprising and a mockery that the Ministers in a coalition government are complaining to the Lt Governor about Rangasamy.

If they do not have faith in the Chief Minister, they should resign their post and go instead of “cheating” Rangasamy by remaining with him.

The one-year N R Congress-BJP government is one with pain rather than one with achievements, he added.
