Kohima: Nagaland Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) Department had a review meeting on COVID-19 held at Kohima, where it was decided to set up Rapid Antigen Testing facility in all SC-Health and Wellness Centre, Primary Health Centre and Community Health Centre with doctors, besides providing oxygen-supported beds in all SC-HWC, Primary Health Center and Community Health Centers.
According to official report, the review meeting was held in presence of Health and Family Minister S Pangnyu Phom with Principal Secretary, Secretary and Principal Director, reviewed on emphasis laid by the Nagaland Government to stop transmission of COVID-19 from urban to rural areas in the State and decided to provide pulse oxymeters and thermometers on loan to COVID–19 positive individuals under home Isolation and emergency oxygen facility in all Community COVID Care Centers (CCCs) as per requirement.
As the reports of workforce shortage in various districts, Phom informed that the representations from various NGOs regarding manpower shortage and grievances were deliberated in length and resolved to be solved on genuine demand and need basis. To strengthen the fight against COVID-19, it has also decided to organise capacity building of all front line workers and health care workers, while monitoring of cases in community CCC and home isolation in village will be undertaken community task force with provisions of tele-consultation and tele-counseling services.
Information, Education and Communication (IEC) and Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) as well as surveillance activities in all villages have been entrusted to the community task force, report said.
