Nagaland discusses border problems with Assam

The report said that the Mokokchung Deputy Commissioner has urged the Jorhat district administration to refrain from taking unilateral actions, which may aggravate tension and create a law and order situation along the border.

Kohima: Officials of the Mokokchung district of Nagaland and Assam’s Jorhat district have held a coordination meeting’ to discuss various issues along the inter-state border.

According to an official report, the meeting that took place on Saturday at the R K School Conference Hall in Tuli town under the Mokokchung district discussed several relevant issues including the maintenance of peace and tranquility at the inter-state border of Mokokchung and Jorhat districts and the meeting resolved to continue extending support and cooperation to each other in maintaining the status quo.

According to the official report Mokokchung district was represented by Deputy Commissioner Shashank Pratap Singh, Superintendent of Police Aotula T Imchen, and Divisional Forest Officer Sentitula, while Jorhat district of Assam was represented by Deputy Commissioner A K Barman, Superintendent of Police Mohanlal Meena and DFO Nandkumaran.
