Pune: Former Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu, who has been fielded by the BJP for the post of president of India, is a bold choice by the central government, said Hemant Patil, National President of India Against Corruption here this evening.
Mr. Patil said that the BJP’s decision was “very right” and that Draupadi Murmu would do justice to the common man.
Mr. Patil further said that Murmu will easily win the presidential election.
“Many opposition parties have expressed support for Murmu. so, she will be the second woman president in the country” he added.
“Murmu, who came out of the grassroots, is a very suitable candidate for the post. Murmu, a social worker and far from publicity, will do justice to all, including tribals, Dalits, and other backward classes in the country. By giving her the candidature, BJP has given justice to the tribal community,” said Patil.
Murmu represents the tribal community of the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. She worked as a writer in a government office. As a BJP MLA, Draupadi Murmu won in 2000 and 2009. She held various positions in the BJP.
“Former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu’s name is being discussed for the post of Vice President which is also a good decision taken by many political organizations,” added Patil.
