Imphal: The Bharatiya Janata Party Manipur Pradesh Saturday welcomed the recent Union Interim Budget 2024 and White Paper on the Indian Economy tabled by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and said that despite policy paralysis and project delays of the previous UPA government, the BJP-led NDA government has overcome all these challenges through good policies and decisions, putting the country on a path of strong growth.

Many big projects, especially in infrastructure and manufacturing were stuck due to delays in approvals. Moreover, corruption was widespread, affecting government activities like procurement and resource allocation, Moirangthem Asnikumar Singh, spokesperson, BJP, said, while speaking to media persons at Thambal Bhavan.

Asnikumar, who is also the chairman of the Loktak Development Authority (LDA), claimed that when the Modi government came into power in 2014, the Indian economy was in bad shape. People were losing hope due to poor economic policies. That’s why the public gave the saffron party a strong mandate to fix things. The government got to work, focusing on revamping the system and boosting development, the BJP leader contended.

He further said the government has achieved a lot since then, from leading in digital innovation to improving public health and diversifying exports. Our goal is to undo the damage of the past and make India a strong player in the global economy, he added.
