Mock drill held at Shillong Raj Bhavan

Shillong: In a run up to the Presidential visit, Raj Bhavan, Shillong, organized a mock fire drill within its premises on Friday, with active participation from officers, staff and Meghalaya police personnel.

The exercise was conducted under the behest of the Governor, Phagu Chauhan, who personally oversaw the smooth conduct of the drill. 

The drill, expertly executed by members of the Meghalaya Fire Service, comprehensively covered fire suppression techniques, evacuation procedures, and the implementation of first-aid protocols.

Furthermore, the staff received informative guidance from the experts from the Meghalaya Fire Service regarding handling of safety equipment that could prove invaluable in the event of a fire incident. This included a thorough examination of potential hazards such as loose wire connections, fire extinguishers, water hydrants and other necessary equipment.
