Imphal: Sagolband Assembly constituency MLA Raj Kumar Imo Sunday donated five ICU Portable Ventilators (BPAP iBreeze Series from Resvent) to Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal (JNIMS), which he hoped will enable the hospital authorities to save more lives.
“The Covid-19 pandemic has had a severe effect on the lives of the people across the country. The second wave has been even more severe resulting in the heavy loss of lives. This has also adversely affected many people in our State of Manipur, with more cases rising on a daily basis resulting in more deaths,” said Imo in a statement.
The lawmaker said all the hospitals in the state including JNIMS are trying their best to save the lives of the people during such tough times, which has been a very difficult task with the ever increasing positivity rate, and the increase in need/demand for ICU beds.
“At this critical Juncture, as a representative of this state, I hereby donate 5 ICU Portable Ventilators (BPAP iBreeze Series from RESVENT) to JNIMS, so as to enable the hospital authorities to manage this situation during the Pandemic, by saving more lives through these ICU Ventilators,” Imo said.
Imo also appealed to the public to come forward and lend a helping hand in whatever role and capacity one can.
The JNIMS, meanwhile, has expressed its heartiest gratitude to the MLA, Sagolband Assembly Constituency for his generous contribution to the hospital and said it will surely be able to save many lives who have been admitted to the hospital.
