Aizawl: Two new buildings of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department, namely Principal Distribution Centre (PDC) Godown and Legal Metrology Working Standard Laboratory, both located at Lawngtlai were inaugurated by Mizoram FCS&CA Minister, K Lalrinliana, Friday.
The inaugural function was attended by the Minister and his wife as chief guests, with MLA, Vice Chairman, Agriculture Development Board, H Biakzaua, and MLA, Vice Chairman, Bamboo Development Board as Guests of Honour, Dr K. Pachhunga. Chief Executive Member of LADC V Zirsanga, FCS&CA Secretary Zothanmawia, FCS&CA Director Ramdinliani and Deputy Commissioner Lawngtlai Dr Andrew H Vanlaldika were also present in this function, attended by members of LADC, officials from state departments, representatives of VCs, NGOs, political parties and media personnel.
Lawngtlai PDC Godown is 150 ft long and 35 ft wide. It has a capacity of 1,000 metric tonne. It was constructed by Babie Construction & Consultancy Services (BCCS) at a total project cost of Rs 2,00,44,000/-.
Legal Metrology Working Standard Laboratory was constructed with Rs 50 lakhs Grant in Aid received under ‘Strengthening of Legal Metrology Infrastructure of States & UTs’ scheme. The construction was done by Mizoram Technocrats Company (P) Ltd. The 120 square metres building has two separate rooms and three bathrooms.
