Kolasib: Plastic (Waste) Resource Management Centre, Thingdawl constructed by PHED, Kolasib WATSAN Division under SBM (G), was inaugurated Friday by Dr.H.Lalthlangliana, DC, Kolasib.
The DC in his inaugural speech highlighted the 3Rs to be followed in waste management, viz. Reduce, Re-use and Recycle. The DC said that the Plastic (Waste) Resource Management Centre, Thingdawl will play a crucial role in recycling the huge quantity of waste plastic bottles in particular.
The PRMC consists of Plastic Baling Machines having a capacity of producing 30 tonne pressure. 600-650 plastic bottles can be baled at a time to produce 6 bales per hour. These plastic bottle bales will then be transported to recycling centre.
