Singapore: Tokyo Olympics Silver medallist Mirabai Chanu, C H Rishikanta Singh and Sanket Sargar qualified for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022 after clinching medals at the Singapore Weightlifting International on Friday.
Chanu lifted a total weight of 191kg (Snatch 86kg and Clean and Jerk 105kg) to clinch a gold in the new 55kg category.
This was Chanu’s first competitive event since Tokyo where she won a Silver in the 49kg category. Sargar also bagged a Gold after lifting 256kg (Snatch 113kg and Clean and Jerk 143kg).
Rishikanta got a Silver with a total lift of 246kg (Snatch 110kg and Clean and Jerk 136kg).Â
