Imphal: A combined team of Manipur police and Assam Rifles apprehended two people including a minor for allegedly involving in theft, extortion and anti-social activities in Imphal west district on Monday.
The accused identified as Moirangthem Lanchenba Meetei, 18, and one minor were members of Salailen Mapari (Kangleipak Defence Force), a gang involved in theft, extortion and other anti-social elements, an official of the Assam Rifles said.
Further, one .32 pistol with one magazine, one 9mm pistol with one magazine loaded with four 9mm ammunitions, one SBBL gun mounted with one telescope, one Chinese hand grenade, five wireless sets, one round seal of SALAILEN MAPARI KDF, one blue flag of Saalailen Mapare Kde, one each of camouflage cap, jacket, BP black vest, camouflage full shirt & trouser, 16 letterheads of Salailen Mapari Kangleipak Defence Force, one 4 wheeler vehicle, one motorcycle were recovered from them.
A case has been registered for further investigation, according to a press note from the PRO, IGAR(S).
