Imphal: Health & IPR Minister Dr. S. Ranjan Singh inaugurated the 13th Khui Phanit (Bee Festival) at Shingkap in Kamjong District. The Minister also inaugurated Shingkap Primary Health Sub Center(PHSC) and a cultural hall, Wednesday.
Speaking as Chief Guest at the inaugural occasion of the festival, Minister Ranjan said the state government has been trying to improve health infrastructures at remote and far flung areas. Primary health care system is being given due importance since it is at the base and a platform for the tertiary health care system, he added.
He maintained the local people should have a sense of belongingness. The newly constructed Shingkap Primary Health Sub Center(PHSC) is constructed under the fund from the Directorate of Minority affairs. The Minister assured to provide the required furniture and manpower as soon as possible.
Speaking as Chief host, MLA, Phungyar Assembly constituency Leisiyo Keishing said from next year apple festival will be organised. Apple farmers of the area will be encouraged if an apple festival is organized in the area. It will also help to generate income for apple growers, he added.
Director Health Services, Manipur Dr. Shasheekumar Mangang, Director National Health Mission, Manipur Dr. Somorjit Ningombam and health officials and others were also present at the inaugural occasion. Minister also released a Souvenir as a part of the festival.
