Shimla: The Mercury is reeling under subzero in Himachal Pradesh’s Keylong tribal town as it was recorded low at minus 0.9 degrees, the Indian Meteorological Department said in a weather bulletin issued on Thursday.
After many spells of snowfall on the high reaches, Mercury freezed to minus 0.9 degrees, 1.4 degrees higher than yesterday.
The minimum temperature showed remarkable improvement in the rest of the places, with a markedly dry and clear sky.
Minimum temperature of state capital Shimla is 9.6 degrees; tourist resort Kufri is 7.5; Narkanda is 5.3; Manali is four degrees; Dalhousie is 8.7; Dharmshala is 11.2; Kalpa (Kinnaur) is 1.8; Solan Palampur( Kangra) is 8.5; Bhuntar and Jubberhati (airport) are seven and 11 degrees.
Minimum temperatures in Chamba, Kangra, and Mandi are 10 degrees, Una is 11.5 degrees, and Bilaspur is 14 degrees.
The Met Office forecasts mainly dry weather for the next two days. A western disturbance would affect the area after October 22, 2023.
