Meghalaya: Three-year-old girl among COVID-19 deaths

Shillong: A three-old-girl is among those five people who died of Coronavirus-related deaths in Meghalaya during the past 24 hours, health officials said on Monday.

Irene Makri (3) of Umdihar village in Ri-Bhoi district was declared brought dead by doctors of Nongpoh Civil Hospital on Sunday, Director Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said.

He said the swab samples of the deceased tested positive for COVID-19.

The death toll due to Coronavirus infection has mounted to 233, with the case fatality rate currently standing at 1.158 per cent, while the positivity rate stands at 15.21 per cent with 409 new cases detected as on Monday.

Meghalaya has 20,129 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 3062 active cases and 16, 834 recovery which is at the rate of 83.63 per cent as on Monday.
