Shillong: Thomas A. Sangma, Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, along with Deputy Speaker Timothy D. Shira, participated in the 10th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Conference at the Lok Sabha in New Delhi.

The conference focused on “The Role of Legislative Bodies in the Attainment of Sustainable and Inclusive Development.”

This marked Sangma’s third attendance at the CPA Conference. He underscored the value of such gatherings, noting that they provide critical insights into legislative procedures that are often overlooked or difficult to grasp.

Sangma also stated that the conference has significantly deepened his understanding, enhancing his effectiveness in managing and conducting legislative affairs within the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
