Shillong: Meghalaya recorded 20 new cases of COVID-19 infection, which added up to 251 active cases and 15 more cases of recovery from the viral disease, which surged the number of recovered cases to 82,893 on Tuesday, health officials said.
The state has so far registered 84619 confirmed Covid-19 cases, including 1,475 deaths due to the viral infection.
Director Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said the COVID-19 cases detected on Tuesday included 15 in East Khasi Hills district and one case each in East Garo Hills district, East Jaintia Hills district, Ri-Bhoi district, West Garo Hills district and West Khasi Hills district.
On the other hand, the number of active COVID-19 cases in the most pandemic-hit district of East Khasi Hills, which includes state capital Shillong is 225, followed by six cases each in East Garo Hills district and Ri-Bhoi district, five cases in West Garo Hills district, four cases in West Khasi Hills district, three cases in East Jaintia Hills district and one case each in South Garo Hills district and West Jaintia Hills district, while the North Garo Hills district, South West Garo Hills district and South West Khasi Hills district had no active Covid-19 case, as per the latest official case count.
Meanwhile, the State government has made mandatory for all persons entering Meghalaya to register themselves prior to their travel at http://meghalayaonline.gov.in/covid/testing.htm and to download the Arogya Setu App and the Behavioural Change Management App of Meghalaya from Google play store or App store. Tourists are required to register on the Meghalaya portal at https://meghalaya.gov.in/ to generate the “e-invite for tourists”.
For international arrivals, it is mandatory to fill up the Self Declaration Form (SDF) and uploading of negative RTPCR test reports.
