Shillong: All State Government Offices and Educational Institutions shall remain closed on April 19, 2024 in order to enable the voters to exercise their franchise in connection with the General Election to Lok Sabha, 2024.
Industrial undertaking or any of the establishments governed by NI Act, 1881, shops and those which work on a shift basis, a daily wage, casual workers including those working outside the Constituency shall be entitled to the benefit of a paid holiday as provided in Section 135(B) of The Representation of the People Act, 1951. Holiday declared.
Meanwhile, all State Government Offices, all Revenue and Magisterial Courts, Educational Institutions, Banks and Financial Institutions in East Khasi Hills District shall remain closed as a local holiday on April 15, 2024, on account of Shad Suk Mynsiem.
