Shillong: The autumn session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly would begin from September 9 and would have six business days, an assembly official said on Wednesday.
Three days have been reserved equally for government and Private Members’ business, Commissioner and Secretary, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Andrew Simons said.
This would be the second last session of the 10th Meghalaya Assembly session. Elections would be held next year to elect the members for the 11th Meghalaya assembly.
Therefore, this session is important as the opposition and the government alike would be trying to bring forth the shortcomings as well as the achievements on the table of the house.
On the first day, it would be government business which would lay ordinances, orders, notification and other related business.
The next business day on August 12 followed by August 14 and 15 has been reserved for the private Members’ businesses.
