Mega ex-servicemen rally on Mar 6 in Manipur’s Koirengei

The rally is being organised to honour and recognise the sacrifice of Indian Army veterans, Veer Naris and Widows of service personnel from Manipur, said a statement by PRO (Defence), Kohima and Imphal, here on Sunday.

Mega ex-servicemen rally on March 6 at Manipur’s Koirengei

Kohima: The Red Shield Division, under the aegis of the Spear Corps of the Indian Army, will organise a mega state-level ex-servicemen rally at Korengei, Imphal, on March 6, 2023. 

The rally is being organised to honour and recognise the sacrifice of Indian Army veterans, Veer Naris, and widows of service personnel from Manipur, according to a statement by PRO (Defence), Kohima, and Imphal here on Sunday.

The rally, being conducted after a gap of 2 years owing to the impact of the COVID outbreak, aims to address all issues concerning the large number of ESM in the State of Manipur, in addition to paying tribute to veterans, Veer Naris, and the widows, it said. 

Relevant functionaries from the PCDA and Records offices will be present to facilitate on-the-spot resolution of ex-servicemen’s grievances.

Representatives and on site outlets of CSD; ECHS Polyclinic; SBI, Axis, and HDFC Banks; SPARSH, Skill Development and Social Welfare Dept., Govt. of Manipur; RSB & ZSB; Army Postal Service; and Army Recruiting Office are also being incorporated.

A special medical camp with specialists from various disciplines is also planned as part of the mega event. Welfare and ESM community interaction based activities, including a cultural event and community lunch, will be held. 

A large number of ESM from across the state are expected to attend the event and interact with military and civilian dignitaries from the state.
